Effect of Two Different Phytobiotic Mixtures on Production Performance and Gut Health in Broilers

Background: In broiler production, antibiotics are used to prevent/control infectious diseases and as a growth promoter. The incorrect application of increases the risk residues in chicken tissues. human’s continuous exposure antibiotic residue containing meat results antimicrobial resistance. So demand towards free is increasing. this condition studies related with alternatives feeding broilers gaining importance. Among alternatives, phytogenic feed additives have promoting effect without causing side effects birds. current study aimed evaluate two different phytobiotic mixtures on production performance gut health broilers. Methods: six weeks duration was carried out between months July August, 2019, at Poultry Farm Complex, Department Science, Veterinary College Research Institute, Namakkal, Tamil Nadu, which falls North-Western agro climatic zone state. 150 day old chicks (vencobb) Result: Birds fed mixture (II) - E. officinalis fruits + M. kenigii leaves S. aromaticum buds (1:1:1) 2 kg/ton resulted significant improvement bodyweight, weight gain lactobacillus count observed. recommended alternative additive
